  If Lance had his way they would be married as quickly as possible and she would be living with him in the big house which belonged to the estate. That reminded her, she needed to know what would happen about her great aunt, there was no way she could live here in the cottage all alone.

  She turned and looked at the house, more from wanting to hide the tears that threatened to spill from her eyes than anything else. Yet the more she looked at the house and buildings, and the orchard running along the side of a big barn, the more she felt as though she were coming home. All tears melted away, and a smile tugged the corners of her mouth up.

  “It’s wonderful.”

  “I’m glad you approve, because the only thing I insist on is that we live here for ever.”

  “I won’t argue with that.”

  “Good, because I wouldn’t leave to find a mate, and I really don’t want to leave now I’ve found you. I want us to raise our children here, Ava.”
